The Quest for Realistic Weave Installations:

It's no secret that we all want the most realistic-looking weave lace frontal install without having to damage our real hair. But how far are we willing to go? In the last year, the new craze has been using Got 2B glue and a nude dome cap to install lace frontals, giving that flesh-tone look through the lace, combined with bleaching the knots for a more natural appearance.

But have you ever wondered what happened to the quick weaves or now called Pronto weave? The same thing; young ladies' scalps were so dry from suffocation that their scalp and hair turned white, mold from blocking all the moisture, circulation, and the dome cap not allowing the hair underneath to dry properly. And let's not forget about the hair glue taking out the edges!

Well, the lace frontal with Got 2B glue is no different, other than using a hard-ass gel instead of hair glue. However, the hair still suffocates underneath that dome cap with the frontal, doesn't dry properly when washed, and all the high alcohol content in the gel makes the hair so hard and dry that it can damage edges over time.

So, here's my advice, ladies: ditch the dome cap and gel! Find a salon professional who can install your premium virgin hair with just needle and thread, or you can always go back to traditional weave installations when you leave hair out. If healthy protective styles are the goal, then the dome cap is not the route you want to take. Remember, these salon professionals work day in and day out to give you the ultimate results, so book them for a weave maintenance and hair care upkeep, and take out your weave install when instructed.

Hair Health and Scalp Issues:

Ensuring the health of your natural hair is paramount, especially when embracing the beauty of lace frontal installations. While lace frontals offer a stunning aesthetic, improper installation techniques can lead to various scalp issues, including the growth of bacteria and fungi.

According to Healthline, several types of bacteria can affect the scalp and hair, potentially leading to issues such as dandruff, hair loss, and scalp infections. Some of the main bacteria to be aware of include:

  1. Tinea Capitis: Also known as ringworm of the scalp, this fungal infection can cause hair loss and scalp irritation.

  2. Trichophyton Tonsurans: A yeast infection that commonly leads to scalp ringworm, causing inflammation and itching.

  3. Malassezia: An overgrowth of Malassezia yeast can contribute to conditions like seborrheic dermatitis, characterized by dandruff and red, itchy skin.

  4. Black Piedra: This fungal infection affects the hair shafts, resulting in the formation of black growths. It's most prevalent in tropical regions with poor scalp hygiene.
