3 Beautiful trending hair closure wigs for 2022 by SL Raw Hair Blog

There are lace closure wigs. And then there are the 2022 hottest trend lace closure wigs.

And I’m sure we know which ones you want to rock this year. When you want to look fabulous and be sure you’re on-trend for the year, it pays to know what styles are in so you can avoid the ones that should stay in the past.

So, what are the hot topic wigs for 2022, and where can you get them?

Hottest 2022 wig trends you need to hop on now

Natural-looking handcrafted lace closure wigs and lace frontal wigs are among the hottest trends in wigs for 2022. Their styling versatility is one of the reasons why women love them. And the beauty is that they can come in so many styles, like the two we highlight below.

  1. Textured Lace Closure Wig

A perfect example of the textured lace closure wig is our very own 18” Kinky Straight Lace Closure Wig

      2. Natural Wavy Lace Frontal Units

The 20” Natural Wavy Lace Front Wig stands apart in our wig collection for naturally wavy lace frontals.

These wigs are the ideal looks for the year because they are the absolutely picture-perfect fit for the top 2022 trending hairstyles. And those two styles, according to our Celebrity Hairstylist Founder, LeAna McKnight, are the tousled body wave and the flirty half-up and half-down hairstyle. And speaking from the best, you can achieve these looks with just a 1-inch barrel iron, heat protectant, mild holding spray, and a hair tie.

Here’s how you can achieve these two trending looks with the right natural hair wig.

Styling your natural hair wigs

There are many ways to style your lace closures. But two of the most popular are the tousled body wave and the half-up-half-down look.

Here’s a quick guide on how to achieve both.

Styling the tousled body wave

Set your curling iron to a temperature between 375 Fahrenheit and 395 Fahrenheit.

Working in small sections starting from your nape, lightly mist with your preferred heat protectant spray. Then curl your hair away from your face, letting the iron sit for about five seconds. Release.

Hold the curl for a further five seconds or until your hair cools.

Repeat this simple process throughout the rest of your hair until you’ve completed the entire head.

And there you have it – the perfect tousled body wave look to take you throughout your day and night.

Styling the half-up-half-down

The second look that’ll take 2022 by storm is the flirty, half-up-half-down and perfect for lace closure wigs.

Here’s what you’ll need to style this look:

  • A 1-inch curling iron
  • Hair tie
  • Boars bristle brush
  • Heat protectant
  • Holding spray

Here’s how to style the look:

Set your curling iron to a temperature between 375 Fahrenheit and 390 Fahrenheit.

Separate your hair into two parts (can be ear-to-ear – higher up the head or lower toward the nape).

Working with the top half, smooth with your brush, and secure the top half with the hair tie.

Lightly mist your hair with the heat protectant.

Then begin curling starting from the back. Curl the hair towards the face, hold for approximately five seconds, then release.

Continue until finished, and you’ll be ready to step out with a gorgeous up-down do.

Pro tip: Sebastian or Oribe offer great heat protectant and holding spray products to aid your styling efforts.

Five reasons why we prefer lace closure wigs for 2022

1. The Fit

Lace closure wigs tend to have a more secure fit than full lace wigs.

2. Comfort

These wigs ooze comfort. The design ensures they are comfortable to wear. Plus, the lace allows your hair to breathe. You’ll feel the flow of air through your hair and scalp as opposed to sewn-in wigs. This is ultimately better for the health of your scalp and your hair.

3. For the DIYers and the professional ladies on the go

Not the type who wants to go to a stylist every time you want a gorgeous hairstyle? Or perhaps you just want something that’s easy to install. Then, then you’re going to want one of these wigs. A lace closure ticks all the right boxes for ease of wear.

4. Glueless install

Lace closure and lace frontals can be excellent “fit and go” natural hair wigs.

Like our Founder, LeAna McKnight always says, we don’t all want to jump on the glue craze. Sometimes we just need something simple that still looks as gorgeous as the semi-permanent installs without the hassles.

5. Versatility

With a lace closure wig, you’ll have more styling options. So, consider side parts, middle parts, and ponytails.

They are ideal for everyday wear to the professional, entrepreneur, and almost every lady between. They offer the versatility of a new look without having to learn wig installation techniques.

6. The longevity of the wig

Now, this benefit is entirely up to the maker and quality of your wig. But, if you get a 100% human hair wig that follows all the best practices for building quality hair extensions, then it could last up to 5 years with proper maintenance and care.

Still have questions about your lace closure wigs?

So, a few quick answers to some of the frequently asked questions we often get about lace closure wigs.

What are lace closure and lace frontal wigs?

If you’re new to wig terminology, lace closure and lace frontal refer to how the wigs are designed and the placement of the lace. For a lace closure wig, it is designed to recreate how you’d naturally part your hair. The lace frontals are designed for the hairline from ear to ear.

What type of lace closure wigs should you get?

As always, we only recommend 100% human hair for any wig you buy. It must be high-quality human hair extensions to get the results you want. Then, go crazy with the styles and colors you want to choose (though we do recommend that you look at styles that match the shape of your face).

Which is better? Lace frontal or a lace closure wig?

It’s all a matter of style preference. But if you want to rock the hottest styles for 2022, both wig styles are perfect for getting you trendy. So, head on over to SL Raw Virgin Hair and get your Textured Lace Closure Wig and Natural Wavy Lace Frontal Units.
