Black girl trying hot rollers for the first time blog with hair guide

I Tried Hot Rollers On My Hair Extensions and I love it!

Ok, ladies. I'm going to let you in on a little secret...

I tried hot rollers for the first time and my hair is loving it!

No joke, my hair extensions has never looked this good.

I'm not one for usually trying new things when it comes to my hair but I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone on this one.

If you're looking for a new way to style your locks, definitely give hot rollers a try. Your hair will thank you!

And if you bought it, its your hair! LOL!

It had never occurred to me how useful hot rollers could be until my friend convinced me to give them a try.

At first, I was very apprehensive - how was I supposed to make use of such a traditionally Caucasian style aid for my long hair?

But then I saw a Conair hot rollers tutorial online and realized that learning how to use them on my own hair wasn't as hard as I thought.

After following what felt like instructions from another universe, I managed to produce the most amazing curls that stayed all day!

Now, hot rollers have become one of my go-to styling tools and I recommend them to everyone who wants voluminous curls.

Using Conair hot rollers to style my hair was surprisingly easy and the results were great. Not only did it give my hair a better body, but by pairing the Conair hot rollers with SL Raw Wavy Hair Extensions, I created a look that was superior to letting my hair air dry on its own.

Despite all of the stories of horror from others attempting to use hot rollers, they are actually pretty straightforward once you get the hang of them - so if you're wondering how you style your hair with Conair hot rollers, look no further than this guide!

Here are five easy steps to follow if you're thinking of trying hot rollers for yourself:

Thinking of trying hot rollers for yourself? No worries: there are only five easy steps to follow!

First, make sure that your hair is completely dry before putting on the hot rollers. You should also apply a alcohol free heat protectant serum beforehand; this will help your hair from getting too dry or damaged by the heat.

Be careful when rolling and place them close together to create more defined curls.

Second, decide how many hot rollers you want to use depending on your hairstyle and curl preference. Typically using 10- 15 is usually enough for most people with shoulder-length or longer locks.

Third, plug in the set and let it warm up – it should be ready after a few minutes.

Fourth, take one roller out of the set and hold the ends of your hair near where you want it to be curled before clamping them around the roller in a spiral motion pushing against your scalp.

Finally, wait anywhere between 5-15 minutes before removing them to give the hairstyle time to settle; generally, long-lasting curls require at least 15 seconds of heat exposure per curl so plan accordingly!

Following these five simple steps will guarantee that you achieve beautiful-looking curls with ease every time using hot rollers!

Before you get started creating the perfect hairstyle with hot rollers, there are a few supplies that you'll need.

The most essential item is the hot roller kit itself - I personally got mine from Sally's Beauty and recommend you get yourself Conair set for optimal results.

Then, you'll want to grab some hair clips to put your hair in place and either an SL Raw Paddle brush or a wide-tooth comb for detangling before you get to work.

Once you have all of your supplies gathered up, you can move on to styling beautiful waves and texture on your hair!

Start by plugging in the hot rollers so they can heat up while you brush your hair into a loose ponytail.

Then, select however many rollers you want to create voluminous curls. Make sure the rollers are warm before starting to curl your hair - this will help ensure your curls last all day long!

Once everything is plugged in and ready to go, the fun of creating fabulous locks can officially begin.

Once you have your hot rollers ready, it's time to get rolling!

Starting from the bottom of your head, roll up a small section of hair around the roller and hook a roller clip onto the hot roller. This prevents the hot roller from slipping out and creates extra hold. Secure all hot rollers in place until you reach the ends of your hair and then allow the hot rollers to cool until they are no longer hot to the touch - this will ensure bouncy curls with optimal hold.

To give your hot rollers enough time to set, you should wait for 20-30 minutes. During that time, why not take a break from the styling session and do something enjoyable such as reading another SL Raw Beauty Blog article?

After 30 minutes have passed, carefully unwind the rollers in order to avoid any hair damage - don't pull them out! Finally, tousle your hair, and voila! You're done.

I'm so glad I decided to try hot rollers, and I hope you'll give them a chance too!

They're easy to use once you get the hang of it, and they really do make a difference in the way your hair looks.

Just be sure to buy a good quality brand of hot rollers - you don't want your hair to end up damaged from using cheap ones.
